Due to the popularity of our products, we have developed short courses to equip teachers in integrating computer and technology skills into everyday learning area lessons.
ICT Training for Teachers - 20 hour distance course (Become an accredited teacher)
A 20-hour distance course which focuses on the Didactics of ICT teaching.
The course consists of 7 units:
- Prepare for ICT (includes computer requirements and classroom setup).
- Classroom Administration (policies, rules and security).
- The ICT Lesson (didactics of ICT; teaching and learning).
- PresentIT Computer Literacy Curriculum and methodology
- Assessment of ICT skills in the classroom
- Maintenance of the ICT classroom and computer network
- Learners with Special Education Needs
The course consists of self-study material (textbook), supported by visual material as well as an audio CD. The study material provides for
reading, reflecting and synopsis for self-use.
You will have the opportunity to work through each study unit in your own time. Study units include activities where you will apply the
course material to your own situation.
Self-tests at the end of the units give time to reflect and to assess your own progress. To make the commitment easier, you will
have to submit a Work Progress Answer Sheet, based on every completed unit.

The final project will serve as assessment and you will have to apply knowledge and skills gained.

You do the course in your own time, but to qualify for due dates, please see table below. If you are not in time for a specific intake, your due date will be extended
to that of the next intake.
